A Talk and Live music with out affiliation in Western Front's Lux Ballroom at 9:00 p.m.

Talk with Matthijs Bouw

Matthijs Bouw is the co-founder and principal architect of One Architecture in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He studied at Delft University and was an editor of Wiederhal, an occasional journal of architecture and design. With One, he is currently designing the Delta Metropolis in South Korea and working with the artist Berend Strik to provide suitable accommodations for a pair of American twins suffering from Tourette's syndrome. Clear Cut will publish his instructional primer How to be an Architect in North Pacific America or Anywhere Around the World.

Music with P:ano and The Strangers

P:ano is the project of Vancouver-based songwriter Nick Krgovich and multi-instrumentalist Larissa Loyva. They debuted with the gentle, languid, hazy, atmospheric tunes of When It's Dark and It's Summer (Zum, 2003).

Arranged with keyboards, horns, strings and back-up vocals, the quartet's orchestral lo-fi pop is reminiscent of Rufus Wainwright at his least pompous and most intimate.
-- The History of Rock Music

The Strangers will play live music.
